Pre-Ballet
Our Pre-Ballet program is designed to inspire students to have a love of dance. Students learn to follow instructions and cooperate with others in a group setting while learning basic ballet movements. Classes encourage musicality, balance, and co-ordination all while having fun.
Dress Code
Students are required to wear any colored body suit, pink or white tights and pink ballet slippers. Hair should be worn in a pony tail or bun. Ballet skirts can be worn but are not required.
Pre-Ballet classes are available for dancers age 3+
Little Stars
Little Stars is a creative dance class for toddlers age 2-3. In this class they will learn to participate in a group setting while learning dance basics in a fun and interactive setting. Our little stars have the option to participate in our year end recital.
Dress Code
Students can wear any colored body suit, pink or white tights and pink ballet slippers. Hair should be worn in a pony tail or bun. Ballet skirts can be worn but are not required.
Little Stars classes are available for dancers age 2 – 3
Ballet
Is the basis for all dance forms. It combines the beauty of music with dance. Students who learn Ballet develop good posture and self-discipline while learning technique and musicality. Ballet training provides young dancers the opportunity to develop grace and self-confidence using creativity and artistry.
Dress Code
Students are required to wear a body suit (any color), pink or white tights and pink ballet slippers. Students can also wear spandex/cotton shorts. T-shirts are not permitted. Hair must be worn in a pony tail or bun.
Ballet classes are available for dancers age 6+
Jazz
Jazz is fun dance style that uses popular music to inspire students. Jazz combines stretching, strength, technical exercises and upbeat movement to create energetic and exciting routines.
Dress Code
Students can wear a body suit or tank top with spandex shorts, capri or jazz pants. Students must wear tan jazz shoes.
Jazz classes are available for dancers age 5+
Hip Hop
Hip Hop is the latest “video” style of dance that is energetic and fun. Hip Hop’s freestyle of movement gives students the opportunity to develop their own style.
Dress Code
Students can wear a t-shirt or tank top with sweat pants and flat bottomed sneakers.
Hip Hop classes are available for dancers age 5+
Modern Dance
Encourages students to express themselves using free style movements. Modern dance blends elements of Ballet and Jazz together. Modern is very creative and inspires students to express themselves.
Dress Code
Students can wear a body suit or tank top with spandex shorts, capri or jazz pants. Hair must be in ponytail or bun.
Modern Dance classes are available for available for dancers 5+
Acro
Acro dance combines dance with acrobatic elements or “tricks”. These classes have greater focus on strength and conditioning than other dance classes in order for students to acquire new acrobatic skills to utilize in their choreography.
Dress Code
Students are required to wear leotards. It is optional to wear spandex shorts or leggings with their leotard.
Acro classes are available for ages 6+
Tap
This is a fun upbeat style of dance that is taught using rhythms, timing, and coordination done to various styles of music.
Dress Code
Students can wear a body suit or tank top with spandex shorts, capri or jazz pants. Students must wear tap shoes.
Classes are available for ages 3+
Modern/Tap Exams
These classes are designed to condition the body for strength, co-ordination and flexibility. Students are taught an international curriculum in Tap or Modern Dance. From the Grade 1 level onward, students can take examinations in ISTD (Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing) syllabi. Dance exam students are taught a set curriculum for their level and are then assessed using a variety of criteria by a qualified examiner. Students are entered for dance exams in small groups, usually 3 or 4 dancers per exam. The exam setting is very formal, and only the examiner and music accompanist are permitted in the exam room. Dance exams require hard work and dedication. Students who take dance exams are required to take multiple classes per week.
Dress Code
Students can wear a body suit with shorts or leggings and no shoes except in Tap. Hair must be in ponytail or bun.
Competition Team
We offer competition teams for ages 5+
All teams are by audition or invite only.
Dance for Musical Theatre
Musical Theatre combines choreography along with facial expressions and character physicality to perform selections from your favourite Musical Theatre shows and movies. Our classes include fun and useful theatre games as well as guest vocal instructor.
Dress Code
Students can wear a body suit or tank top with spandex shorts, capri or jazz pants. Students must wear tan jazz shoes.
Dance for Musical Theatre classes are available for ages 6+
